Alabama Organ Center Receives Level I Quality Award
The Alabama Organ Center has been recognized for its commitment to quality by receiving a Level I award from the Alabama Performance Excellence Program (ALPEx). ALPEx promotes economic development by facilitating increased productivity in organizations by serving as advocates and practitioners of the Baldridge Performance Excellence Framework. They recognize those organizations that successfully use the criteria, core values and concepts, and provide guidance for sustained performance in order to remain competitive and thrive in the global marketplace.
The Level I award indicates a commitment to excellence. This level if for organizations that have made a serious commitment to use and implement performance excellence concepts and principles. Application at this level requires a description of the Organizational Profile and a self-assessment of how the organization is applying the seven categories of the ALPEx award criteria.
“The Alabama Organ Center has been focused on transforming itself to better meet the needs of the community, and we are seeing the positive results of those efforts,” said Chris Meeks, executive director Alabama Organ Center. “In 2016 we exceeded the national growth performance and are now focusing on continued growth and sustaining our service to our mission. We are grateful to hospital and community partners that help to make this possible. We are especially humbled by the generous nature of the residents of Alabama who register their decision to be donors, and to all of the families who support organ, eye and tissue donation. This ALPEx award is an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to quality and identify opportunities for future improvement."
