New Appointments at the New York Organ Donor Network

The New York Organ Donor Network, the nonprofit federally designated organ procurement organization serving the Greater New York metropolitan area, announces the following new appointments:
Jacqueline Coley has been appointed Director of Tissue Services. From 1999 to 2001, Ms. Coley was Executive Director of the Ambulatory Care Network Corporation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. Prior to that, Ms. Coley was Vice President for Health Center Operations at FPA Medical Management where she was responsible for the New York metropolitan region. Ms. Coley has also served as Senior Quality Management Specialist at Principal Health Care in Rockville, Maryland. She also held various positions at The Health Insurance Plan (HIP) of Greater New York, including the Director of their Medical Group Operations Division. Ms. Coley obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Public Administration from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University.
Dr. Yuriy Yushkov has been named Tissue Recovery Manager. Dr. Yushkov served as tissue recovery team leader at the Gift of Life Donor Program in Philadelphia since 1988. Prior to that, he served as a surgical technician, as well as the head of the Transplant Department and a vascular surgeon at Zaporozhye Regional Hospital in Ukraine. Dr. Yushkov earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Zaporozhye Medical University, and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the National Research Surgery Center of the Academy of Medical Sciences in Moscow. He has continued his training through many courses and certification programs. Dr. Yushkov’s writings have appeared in a wide range of scientific and scholarly publications.
Carrie Comellas has been promoted to Quality Systems Manager/Corporate Compliance Officer. Ms. Comellas has been with the Donor Network since 1997, when she served as a Transplant Coordinator, until October 2000. At that time, she moved into the position of Organ Placement Coordinator. Prior to coming to the Donor Network, Ms. Comellas served as a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse at Stony Brook University Hospital. She also worked for the All Care Staffing Agency. Ms. Comellas earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Juliet Brenegar joined the Donor Network as Manager for Marketing and Development. Ms. Brenegar most recently worked at CBS News in New York as a Senior Press Representative for 48 Hours and CBS News Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood. Prior to that she was Director of Public Relations at the Sundance Channel, a division of Showtime Networks, and she was Director of Communications at PBS for P.O.V., The American Documentary. Earlier, Ms. Brenegar was employed as Account Executive at Michael Shepley Public Relations in New York, and as a Washington, DC-based press officer for Greenpeace USA. Ms. Brenegar completed her Master’s degree in Media Studies at New School University in New York.
