Welcome to the first electronic edition of the AOPO Update.
We have come a long way from the first AIOPI (Association of Independent Organ Procurement Organizations) Newsletter back in the summer of 1987. In fact, in the second newsletter that year, then President Dennis Flippone said in his President’s Corner: "I’m happily writing this on my Leading Edge Model ‘D’ XT computer. I don’t worry too much about spelling errors because my software will pick them up. I use Wordstar 2000 to write my column, then run the spelling checker, and finally write it to disk in both Wordstar and ASCII format. I make a backup and send one disk to Regina (Wortman). Somehow she gets it into print and mails it to the members of the AIOPO."
Don’t you love the "somehow," let alone all the other speedo help aids of only fifteen years ago. By the way, for the AOPO Executive Director reading this in March 2017, I bet you are really enjoying this.
