LiveOnNY Announces Staff Changes

LiveOnNY has several staff changes to announce.

Jeff Lewis – Vice President of Clinical Operations

Lewis has been in the field of organ and tissue donation since 1989, and with LiveOnNY since 1996 (for 21 years). As Vice President of Clinical Operations, Lewis oversee the clinical transplant coordinators and the donor center which handles all referrals, tissue donation and organ allocation. Prior to this, he served as LiveOnNY’s Director of Clinical Services, and prior to that the Director of Referral and Recovery.

Natalie Benavides – Vice President of External Affairs and Strategic Development

Natalie Benavides is the Vice President of External Affairs and Strategic Development for LiveOnNY. Natalie joined LiveOnNY as the Director of Hospital Services in July, 2012. In 2016, her role expanded to include Family Services. She has nearly 15 years of nonprofit development experience with a particular specialization in the field of organ, eye and tissue donation.

Previous to joining LiveOnNY, Natalie was the Executive Director of Donate Life Maryland; the organization awarded the state contract to provide and maintain an official donor registry for the State of Maryland. She was both a Hospital Services Specialist and Donation Specialist for Washington Regional Transplant Community, the federally designated organ procurement organization for the Washington, DC metropolitan area. She is a graduate of The American University and has a Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from Fordham University.

Michele Clayton Lucas – Vice President of Human Resources/Corporate Compliance Officer

Lucas has held the position of Human Resources Director at the LiveOnNY for the past 16 years and Corporate Compliance Officer and In-House Counsel since 2015. Prior to entering the field of organ and tissue donation, she held several administrative positions at New York Presbyterian hospital. She recently served as a member of the Bioethics Committee of the NYC Bar Association.

Lucas has a Bachelor's degree in biology from Fordham University and an M.B.A. in Healthcare Administration from Baruch College, both in New York. She received a J.D. degree from Rutgers University School of Law- Newark in 2012 and is admitted to practice in New York State.
