New AOPO Branding Signals a Fresh Direction for the OPO Community

MCLEAN, September 22, 2020 – The Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), a leader in the organ procurement and transplantation community, announced a rebranding today that reflects its mission to lead the nation’s organ donation community and its vision of the day there is no longer a waiting list for a life-saving organ transplant.

“Our rebranding indicates a new approach and direction for AOPO,” says Steve Miller, CEO at AOPO. “We will lead the organ procurement organization (OPO) community through advocacy, education, and a focus on performance improvement. While the US is the world leader in organ donation and transplantation, there is always room for improvement and we will work with our members to pursue the day when every donation opportunity results in lives saved.”

AOPO recognizes the strength of working with its partners in the organ donation and transplantation community and will continue to collaborate with them to drive systemic improvement.  As OPOs and other stakeholders share new and refined best practices, more of those in need of organ transplants can be saved.
