Nevada Donor Network Announces New Vice President of Clinical Affairs

Las Vegas, February 17 –

Nevada Donor Network is pleased to welcome Melissa Blevins Bein, RN, MS as its new Vice President of Clinical Affairs. She began this new role January 26.

Mrs. Bein brings more than a decade of experience in the field of Organ Donation and Transplantation. Most recently, she served as Administrator for the Transplant Center at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona. In June of 2010, she made a powerful gesture of generosity and donated a kidney to a friend.

Mrs. Bein holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lynchburg College and a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Clemson University. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and has served as a Federal Grant Reviewer for the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Division of Nursing.

During her time as the Executive Director of Donate Life South Carolina (formerly Gift of Life Trust Fund), Mrs. Bein led an initiative to lobby state leaders to establish the South Carolina Donor Registry with the goal of increasing donor registrations in the Palmetto State. She was also one of only 11 people chosen to participate in a year-long program aimed at changing an international topic of choice, for which she selected organ and tissue donation.
